After graduating in Modern Literature and Communication, Maya Flandin worked for three years at a cultural institution where she discovered the profession of bookseller.
She established her own business in Lyon (France) in 1997 at the age of 27. In 20 years, the turnover of Vivement Dimanche increased 10 times and the number of employees grew from 2 to 10. More than 30 authors visit the bookstore every year.
At the same time, she started cooperating with her own trade, standing up for independent bookstores. After being the president of the bookstores trade association in the Region Rhône-Alpes for 6 years, she was appointed vice-president of the Syndicat de la libraire française (French booksellers association).
