Pia Cailleau studied comparative literature and philosophy at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and at the Sorbonne IV in Paris. After an editorial internship at Heyne Verlag, she worked as a trainee and a junior editor at Piper Verlag. Both are major publishing houses in Germany. Since she has always loved young-adult fantasy fiction as well as the north of Germany, she was very happy to finally return to her birthplace Hamburg to start working at Carlsen Verlag, the publishing house known for its German editions of Harry Potter and Twilight. Working with a highly-motivated team she has established the digital fantasy imprints Impress and Dark Diamonds.
